lightweight concrete

Lightweight concrete

A) Slopes/Levels:

sloping ribs using sand/cement mix are formed on the roof based on a minimum 1% slope towards the drains (.50 mm) minimum thickness is assumed at the lowest level, near drains with thickness increasing away from the drains.

B) Mix proportion (1 M of mix):

cement (opc) - 650 kgs
clean water - 250 Ltr
foaming agent (Darex AE4) OR 01 Ltr
(Mas Foam Cement) Density 550-650kg/m3

C) Method of Mixing-Mixer Capacity (0.5M):

1) Mix the foaming agent separately with about 5 Ltr. Water to a foam.
2) Fill water in the mixer.
3) Add cement and mix until the mixture appears homogeneous.
4) Add foam to the mixture to 0.50M of lightweight concrete.

D) Method of Application:

1) open the gate of the mixture to allow the mix to flow into the pump which will pump the mix through a pipe to the required location.
2) pour the lightweight concrete to the required levels indicated on the roof. The lightweight concrete is finished with an aluminum straight edge.

E) Curing & Drying:

The lightweight screed should be cured with water for 3 to 7 days (according to weather). When the curing is over the surface must be open to sum 3 days prior to the commencement of waterproofing works.
